Murder Investigation Notes
You say, "yeah, I have it open"
Phil says, "So if you want a timeline..."
Phil says, "Working forwards: the earliest anomoly you have is that he didn't sleep in his bed, two nights ago. That would be the previous night, when the rail guards brought you his body, and the night before that."
Phil says, "Similarly, the last normal thing you have, is Dane (the victim) was at dinner roll call that night. So he's at dinner, then doesn't sleep in his bed."
Phil says, "At that dinner, he tells Violet, the girlfriend, that he's got to go off to the railbridge to take some measurements."
Phil says, "You know from Gerald's inspection and subsequent psychometry, that the bridge was being sabotaged. A gang of men would come at night. That night was the final night."
Phil says, "Dane doesn't sleep in his bed. He misses an exam the following morning. That would have been 'yesterday' on the game clock."
Phil says, "That afternoon he shows up in camp again, looking like hell and talking like a crazy man. He finds Violet and jabbers about the breaking strength of pine and says the train will sink. He sticks his hand in a pot of coffee that's hot enough to scald. Then he wanders off into the woods."
Phil says, "From Alec's tracking, you know he was out there for several hours, almost made it to the river, quite a ways upstream (north) from the rail bridge, but collapsed on the eastern side - so he didn't swim it, wade it, or cross it."
You say, "Yeah. I'm pretty sure there's some spirit possession or somethin that happens at that point too"
Phil says, "You'd guess he finally collapsed some time after nightfall. That was last night. Several hours later he's found by the school's hired guards, who bring him to Fowler's place. That was this (very early) morning. The rest is as you've seen it."
You say, "Actually let me amend. he was either spiritually afflicted or really high"
