"The Angel". That's what the junkyard owner and mechanic now dubbed Scrapper called her. She can bless people with what she refers to as a Link: a psychic affinity for some particular element, such as metals or certain gasses.
Her arrival on Earth created hundreds of unstable Links, giving people all over the world the potential for uncontrolled superpowers - dangerous enough on their own, and even worse if someone unified them for evil.
Now Scrapper, along with a friendly contact in America's intelligence apparatus, has a plan: get as many people together as he knows or can trust, give them Links of their own, and use them to keep the world safe. But more than that: the junk man wants to do interesting things and have fun with the blessings that have fallen into his lap, and he wants the same for his friends.
This game will run in the Fall of Eden slot, as one of the Chaos Frontier's alternatives. Game rules are TBD but probably either GURPS 4th edition or Mutants&Masterminds (a d20-based supers RPG - I'm interested in actually seeing this in action).
Characters should have a reason to know Scrapper and/or his CIA contact, and will probably know each other as well. Characters will have a common power origin and powers will need to follow the basic premise of the game. There will be a distinct lack of gleaming high-tech sets or clean, elegant gadgetry; we are definitely operating with the steampunk ethos, if not literal steam-based technology.

- Megas XLR: a couple of buddies and a woman from the future use a superweapon to fight off alien invaders who want to steal it.
- Read or Die: quirky secret agents with quirkier super-powers.
- Starman: Jack Knight, who sees superheroing as a profession in the family business, manages to be a great hero and still stay fully grounded in humanity.
- Thunderbirds: International Rescue is a secret organization comprised of a single family of well-off do-gooders.
- Wild Cards: the supers anthology features eclectic powered humans in an alternate history.
