Game:
Turning Tides

To deal with Fandral Staghelm's reluctance to join the war on the naga, Ezra Pyreborn conceives of a bold plan: with the help of the Bronze Dragonflight, he and his allies will travel back in time to the War of the Shifting Sands and resurrect his son, Valstann.

The Defiant arrives in Moonglade. Ezra proposes a mad plan.

The Defiant, under Tyrande's direction, crosses the mountains northeast of Auberdine and into a sylvan paradise. Vast oaks fill the valley from one end to the other, with Lake Elune'ara gleaming like a jewel in the center.

The adventurers step through the portal. But not together - one at a time. And the wash of arcane energies obscures the fact that not all arrive together.

Summary:
The party track Valstann's corpse to a well-guarded cave.

A shimmering portal appears on the sands of Silithus, and four adventurers step through. Outwardly, the terrain seems little different from what the left, a thousand years in the future - an arid, desolate waste with little but desert scrub.

Summary:
The party battle qiraji to recover Valstann's corpse.

Saeren draws and fires swiftly, taking the first shot without pause. She strikes true, but just barely harms her target. "Not so easy this time," she growls softly.

Ezra has stepped forward into the cave. Now a ball of fire begins to appear in his hands as he chants, and he glances left and right, noting the corpses.

Kagarn, whose own fists have begun to crackle with lightning, calls out, "The wings! Saeren, the wings aren't armored!"

Summary:
The party has recovered the body, and now must find safety.

The cave serves well as a temporary refuge against the qiraji. Kagarn spends the next several hours carefully picking the insect eggs from Valstann's flesh. As he works, he passes the time with conversation. "I must confess - I had hoped that I might be able to resurrect the young Staghelm here, in Silithus. But that will prove impossible. The spirits of life are weak here - they respond but weakly to my calls. I have never seen such desolation."

The sands of Silithus are hot, and the land is desolate. What little grows here is tough and thorny, sending its roots deep to greedily suck away the moisture it can find. That which lives here is hungry and desperate and dangerous because of it. Ezra's booted feet leave their faint marks in the sand as he walks. Every so often he glances behind him. And eventually he announces that he will wait behind for a few moments, and catch up with the group.

Summary:
The party devises a route out of Silithus.

"We have a long journey ahead of us," Kagarn says. According to Saeren's knowledge of the terrain, it is nearly forty miles to Southwind Village. That would be a day's travel under normal conditions; with the need to cover the party's tracks, it will be more like two days. But as the pandaren say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Summary:
The party defends Kagarn while he casts Resurrection.

The makeshift balloon performs admirably under the circumstances, but before too long it begins to lose altitude - much to the mirth of the air elemental guiding it to the east. "Silly groundlings," it laughs. "This is a delightful thing you've made, but it doesn't really fly, does it? Ah well... it's been fun, but I need to get back home." The balloon rocks, and then rights itself, gliding slowly southward, and down... toward the hot springs below.
